Hello, this is Judith Kenigson Kristy, founder and CCBW * of Access Translating and Interpreting (ATI).

I’m glad you took the time to visit my site. It’s still under construction (I’m just learning how to do this) but  I hope to have all sorts of interesting material available here, all about the subject of Translating and Interpreting – otherwise known as T&I. As I learn how to include them, you will find registration forms for training workshops, request forms for T&I services, links to cool sites and a document archive for articles, position papers, presentations and other documents you can read and/or download.

The down-loadable documents are a particular love of mine since I know how hard it is sometimes for clients to know what to look for in a translator or interpreter – after all, how do you know someone is competent and reliable if you, yourself, don’t speak the language? And for translators and interpreters, I know how difficult it is sometimes to explain exactly what, how, and why we do what we do, and why people should choose a T&I professional rather than just a person who happens to speak two languages. I’m confident that these documents about particular aspects of translating and interpreting will be helpful for both language service users and T&I professionals in providing guidance about the standards, skills, procedures and protocols for varied T&I tasks and settings.

Enjoy!
