    The Tennessee State Court Interpreter Ethics and Skill Building Workshop is the required first step you need to take to become Certified or Registered as a court interpreter in Tennessee. The workshop is now being offered in Memphis. Interested interpreters of all languages may register and pay for the workshop by filling out this registration form. Please note – your registration is not final until payment in advance has been made!

    DATE AND TIME OF NEXT WORKSHOP: November 2-3, 2019

     The workshop is held from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p .m. Participants must attend BOTH days (14 hours) to receive credit.

    LOCATION: SOUTHWEST TN COMMUNITY COLLEGE

    CONTENT: Participants will learn about court interpreting skills, protocols and ethics, as well as legal terminology and procedures.

    INSTRUCTOR: Judith Kenigson Kristy (click to see bio), Federal and State Certified Court Interpreter, Certified Translator, Bilingual Mediator 

    COST: $325. Includes an extensive (200+ pages) take-home workbook containing critical information needed in order to pass the exams to become a certified court interpreter in Tennessee.

    This course is approved by the Tennessee Administrative Office of the Courts and is a prerequisite for taking the TN Court Interpreter exams.

    *Please note that workshop dates may change. A minimum of 10 students must be registered and paid in advance for the class to be held. If there are fewer registrants, the class will be postponed until more people register or moved to the next scheduled date. If the new date is not acceptable for any paid registrant, payment will be fully refunded.
